Defective Door Latches

More than 100 people have been killed or injured after type III door latches on General Motors vehicles failed, causing occupants to be ejected from the vehicle. General Motors chose not to recall and fix the door latches because it would cost approximately $916 million.

Mitsubishi also concealed evidence about its knowledge of door latch failures. It has also been alleged that certain Ford vehicles do not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. These defective door latches can cause death, paralysis and severe head trauma.
