- NFL Alumni Cheerleader Now Criminal Defense Attorney Cheers On Her Underdog Clients in Court
Press Release provided by Karren Kenney on January 10, 2013
LawyerCentral.com, January 10, 2013 — CALIFORNIA — Costa Mesa, California - Anyone who is accused of a crime and forced to go through the criminal court process deserves their own personal cheerleader to help them get through it, according to Orange County Criminal Defense Attorney Karren Kenney.
Attorney Kenney recently left the OC Public Defender's office where she had experienced the highs and lows of defending her indigent clients, some even accused of murder and facing life in prison. Now she has set up her own criminal defense practice, continuing to fight for her underdog clients.
Criminal defense attorneys are a dime a dozen, but very few have extensive jury trial experience, which makes all the difference in the courtroom for a criminal case. "I have tried over 60 criminal jury trials and have come to learn that an attorney's performance in front of the jury is crucial to winning," states Attorney Kenney.
Although Attorney Kenney was an NFL cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, who performed on the field for thousands of fans, performing in the courtroom for a jury is her passion.
"Your average juror is used to watching legal television shows and expects to see the same thing in a real courtroom. You can't expect to win a jury trial if you are boring to watch in the courtroom. You have to make your presentation dramatic and believable in order to be effective and convincing", says Attorney Kenney.
Everyone accused of a crime deserves their day in court. "I am committed to aggressively fighting for my clients with compassion for what they are going through. Society tends to turn its back on those accused of crimes, even though a person is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Most of the time, I'm the only person who is on their side, fighting for them and cheering them on."
