Leonard J. D'Arrigo ("L. J.") specializes in corporate and professional immigration involving employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, labor certification, and family-based immigration.
He and his colleagues assist a diverse group of U.S. and foreign employers, such as multi-national corporations, religious institutions, and universities to obtain temporary and permanent visas for skilled or professional foreign national employees, including international executives and managers, engineers, researchers, skilled craft workers, medical personnel, scientists and university professors, understanding the impact of immigration issues on corporate operations. Mr. D'Arrigo has also developed an extensive practice in assisting agricultural and seasonal employers in obtaining a legal workforce through the H-2A and H-2B visa programs to meet seasonal employment needs. He assists these employers in navigating through the complex maze of government regulation, and counsels employers on compliance issues. At the same time, Mr. D'Arrigo represents individual foreign-national clients in obtaining immigration benefits through family-based immigration categories.
Mr. D'Arrigo joined Whiteman Osterman & Hanna as an associate attorney in September 2005 upon graduation from Albany Law School, where he served as the Managing Editor for Lead Articles on the Albany Law Environmental Outlook Journal. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. D'Arrigo received the Patrick B. McNamara Prize for the highest standing in employment law. During law school, Mr. D'Arrigo worked as a law clerk at Whiteman Osterman and Hanna, focusing on immigration law. Mr. D'Arrigo first joined Whiteman Osterman & Hanna as a paralegal in 1997, where he continued to be employed until his graduation from law school. Mr. D'Arrigo also worked as a paralegal at Foley, Hoag & Elliot in Boston, MA.
