Employee Issue:

Prevention

A good way to reduce workplace harassment is to develop a program to train your employees to recognize and prevent workplace harassment. Simply having an anti-harassment policy in your employee handbook is not enough. You must post this policy in visible, public areas. All employees, supervisors and new hires must receive a workplace harassment policy and you must retain a record of their receipt; understand the complaint process; and be trained on your polices and receive record of this training. The complaint process instilled in the company should allow an employee to bypass their current supervisor. Employees should also be rewarded for preventing or correcting workplace harassment. Make sure you respond to all complaints immediately and investigate them thoroughly. Every year, update your policy and retrain employees.
