Before founding the Saputo Law Firm, Mr. Saputo undertook rigorous training and study in law. He graduated from the Duke University School of Law, an elite top-ten law school. While there he studied criminal law and federal criminal law, among other courses and legal clinics. As a versatile young law student, Mr. Saputo worked on criminal appeals in California and on criminal trials in New Orleans, Louisiana, his hometown.
While still in law school, Mr. Saputo was selected to work in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in the chambers of Judge Carl Barbier, noted as the federal judge presiding over the Gulf Oil Spill disaster case. He helped Judge Barbier with research, drafting opinions and in managing the everyday affairs of the court. This experience was invaluable in obtaining high-level training from the inside of a federal district court.
After graduation from Duke Law School, Mr. Saputo passed the bar exam and became licensed in Texas. He took his first job as an Associate at the law firm of Vinson & Elkins, LLP, one of the most prestigious law firms in Texas. He lived in Houston for two years while working for the firm before moving to Dallas. After leaving Vinson & Elkins, he worked for and with several leading criminal defense attorneys in the state of Texas. After this rigorous training and experience, he founded the Saputo Law Firm in Dallas.
Now Mr. Saputo brings to bear his experience and training to each one of his clients’ cases. And above all, his commitment to zealously representing his clients in court drives him to the great degree of success that he enjoys in the practice of criminal defense law.
