My name is Douglas Smith, back in December 2008 i met a young lady named Alieshia Carey age 19 living in shelters in grand rapids, michigan, during this time we became close as friends and i've been helping her out with what income I had. Now in june of 2008 i moved to my hometown in holland , michigan in which she came along hoping to find employment, at the shelter she was stgaying at they looked up on a computer to see if she had any kind of income and by surprise she was getting ssi in which her mother was claiming. So Alieshia asked me if I would'nt mind being her payee and we both went to the ssa office and it was granted, but in july she came back to the same city her mother lived and she forced her to change her back as her payee. What i don't understand is that ssa told me that any payee is not supposed to have any kind of felony record and her mother has a 11 year old federal charge on her for fraud. So we went back to the ssa about 3 weeks ago to switch back to me and nothing was changed, even after i taold the ssa worker she has not lived with her mother for about 3 years. My question is, that is there anyway for me to get around this sitiation?? If so how and please call me at 616-608-3535. Thank You
