I towed my 01 jeep cherokee using a U-Haul dolly. The U-Haul associate connected the vehicle to the dolly and instructed me to put it in neutral while towing it. However, I later fould out the drive shaft should have been disconnected. This informantion was given to me from my local UHaul store. Towing it in neutral resulted in $1,900 in transmission damage. U-Haul said they would only pay for half of the damage. U-haul errored in putting the vehcile in neutral they should be responsibel for all damages??
I believe that you are asking if U-Haul could be made to pay all the damages. Well, you can make them responsible for the entire damages but they could always argue that since you participated in the towing that you should also share the burden. In this case, you should consult an attorney to enforce your right.
