I worked as a valet parking attendant for a big company. While working, I got in to a car accident with a woman in the parking lot. Her car had nothing but a dent in it. Police came and made a report, my boss came and everything. This all happened in 2007. Now I get a letter saying that she wants to sew me. Can she legally sew me? Doesn't she have to go after the company where I work? What happens if you get sewed, and the plaintiff wins, but you are dead broke? No assets no car nothing but $17 to my name, what happens then?
Since the accident happened while you were performing your duty as a valet then the employer may be held liable for it provided that you were not negligent. Ask an employment lawyer for legal advise.
