Traffic Violation:

Virginia Traffic Regulations

The Virginia Vehicle Code covers motor vehicle laws including titling and registering vehicles, driver’s licenses, motor vehicle deals, and penalties for violating the laws. The Code also includes a chapter on Virginia Traffic Laws which can be helpful if you are issued a traffic violation. Traffic regulations covered include topics such as following too closely, right of way, traffic lights, u-turns and passing.

Virginia DUI law refers to those driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08% or higher. You can still be arrested for driving under the influence if your BAC is beneath the legal limit if drugs or alcohol have impaired your driving. You cannot refuse a breathalyzer test if you are pulled over for probable cause. Consequences for driving under the influence result in license revocation for a year and a fine of at least $250.
