SELECTION OF JURY TO BEGIN IN CHIEF CASE

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - A jury is expected to be seated by mid-afternoon Monday and the fate of a local police chief will be in their hands. Suspended Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter will be on trial in the courtroom of Belmont County Common Pleas Court Judge John M. Solovan after he and two other local men were accused of being involved in a case that has gained international notoriety.
