Biographical Information

Areas of Practice: Marital and family law, probate and guardianship litigation, civil litigation.

Professional Experience: Mr. Bornstein has 23 years of experience handling complex marital and family law litigation matters for clients across the State of Florida. He has extensive experience in probate and guardianship matters, and in civil litigation. He also serves as a mediator, guardian ad litem, and attorney ad litem in family law cases and probate matters. Mr. Bornstein is a frequent lecturer on marital and family law topics, has several reported appellate opinions, and has argued before the Florida Supreme Court.

Professional Associations: Mr. Bornstein has been named the Palm Beach County Legal Aid Society's 2009 Family Lawyer of the Year, and has also been recognized by the Florida Supreme Court for his service to the profession, the community and the economically disadvantaged. He is past Chair of the Florida Bar 15th Circuit Grievance Committee 15A, a past Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee, and served on the Florida Supreme Court Steering Committee on Privacy in the Courts. He is past Chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Section Rules and Forms Committee; past Vice-Chair of the Family Law Section's Legislation Committee; Vice-Chair of the Family Law Section's Membership Committee; a member of the Family Law Section's Executive Council, Children's Issues Committee, Equitable Distribution Committee, and Mediation and Collaborative Law Committee; and a past chair of the Ethics and Attorneys Fees Committee, Unbundled Legal Services Committee, and Creative Lawyering Solutions Sub-Committee. He is also a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Family Law Practice Committee/Unified Family Court Committee, the South Palm Beach County Bar Association Family Law Practice Committee, and is a founding member and Vice Chair of the Collaborative Divorce Team, Inc.
