PETER BAUMAN is an experienced lawyer in Los Angeles, California, representing clients from San Diego to San Francisco, and from the coast to the Inland Empire.

My practice focuses on:

Real Estate & Construction Disputes: Matters ranging from residential to commercial projects before, during, and after construction. I have experience in on-site construction related injuries, property damage, defective construction, performance bonds, and homeowner associations. I have assisted developers, general contractors, architects, engineers, homeowners, homeowner associations, and subcontractors in all aspects of these matters. Recent representation has included the newly developing "Green" construction and alternative energy systems.

Insurance Coverage Disputes: These matters relate to insurance issues arising from real estate, construction, and/or commercial business losses and damages. I have experience in defending against contribution and subrogration, and providing coverage advice on additional insured claims.

Business Litigation: These matters relate to partnership disputes, breach of contract, violation of intellectual property and trade secrets, and unfair competition. I have experience in both defending and prosecuting these matters for corporate clients.

Business Transactions: These mattes include business formation, development, and management. We have assisted numerous companies with structuring their businesses and preparing their contracts to minimize risk while not interfering with the business. We take pride in preparing straight forward and plain English legal documents in a cost effective manner based upon the client's needs. Typical agreements include intellectual property license agreements, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, supplier agreements, and indemnity and hold harmless agreements.

Approach to Lawsuits: Lawsuits can be very time consuming, distracting, and expensive. As such, we approach each matter carefully and with the utmost due diligence, whether it be preparing and filing a complaint, responding to a complaint, or exploring options to resolve the dispute prior to litigation. We find this approach tends to resolve the matters that can be resolved before trial, quicker, and allows for a better and more efficient results should the matter proceed to trial. We pride ourselves on constant communication with our client, providing timely and accurate reporting. Further, we pride ourselves on exploring creative and unique methods to resolve cases, which often lead to better results than letting the case proceed to jury trial.
