MERKINS ART SALE PAVES WAY FOR SETTLEMENT

J. Ezra Merkin, the New York financier who lost more than $2.4 billion of his clients’ money in Bernard L. Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, agreed to sell his famed art collection on Tuesday for $310 million in a deal that could pave the way for a future settlement with Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo.
