Martin Brillantine

Biographical Information

Martin Brillantine is a native Northern Virginian. Born at Fairfax Hospital, Mr. Brillantine attended all local area schools, including Fairfax Villa Elementary, Sidney Lanier Intermediate, and Fairfax High School. In 1992, Mr. Brillantine graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. An avid soccer player, Mr. Brillantine served on the nationally ranked George Mason Men's Soccer Team during his four years of college.

Mr. Brillantine's interest in law began in 1986 when he worked for Lawrence & Smith as a legal assistant while still in high school. As he became more involved with the daily operations of the firm, Mr. Brillantine set sights on attending law school after completing his undergraduate studies.

In 1996, Mr. Brillantine received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the David A. Clarke School of Law in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Mr. Brillantine participated in numerous free legal clinics, assisting claimants with a variety of needs.

Upon graduation, Mr. Brillantine returned to his full-time employment at Lawrence, Smith & Gardner. In 1999, Mr. Brillantine was admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. He currently works at Lawrence, Smith & Gardner as an Associate Counsel. His main area of practice is Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income claims; additionally, Mr. Brillantine assists Mr. Smith in the development of his cases set for trial. Mr. Brillantine is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR).

Mr. Brillantine still enjoys playing soccer and lends his time to coaching during both the fall and spring seasons at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia and Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia.
