LAWYER KEPT TIES TO BROKER UNDER WRAPS

When trustees of Detroit's two retirement boards hired a local stockbroker in 2004, their longtime lawyer, Ronald Zajac, did not tell them she also was his personal financial adviser. Zajac said he did not volunteer the information because he did not want to appear to be endorsing her.
