Assisted in the development and vision of this not-for-profit organization which is dedicated to addressing the collective need to lower the rates of incarceration locally and nation-wide. Assists in raising funds and in developing programs which are designed to assist children of incarcerated parents, as well as youths of under-served communicates, to avoid incarceration and pursue productive lives by providing mentorship programs, exposure, and training them in sound decision making. Work with the President of this organization to set policies, develop goals, and identify resources for further development.

Wayman F. Smith Scholarship Foundation 2000 – Present

Founder / Trustee

Established, from its inception, a foundation committed to creating and providing college funding to qualified students from socio-economically challenged backgrounds. Plans and implements the foundation's growth and development including: setting fund-raising goals; developing an auxiliary Advisory Board; and developing foundation policy. Also oversees annual distributions to scholarship recipients, and directs the financial management of the foundation's now more than $200,000 endowment – a fund which has steadily grown for eight consecutive years.
