Joshua Tetterton

Biographical Information

Joshua Tetterton is a Carteret County native. He was born and raised in Morehead City, North Carolina. After high school he moved to Raleigh where he graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Political Science and earned his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law. During law school he concentrated his course load in criminal law while interning at the Harnett County District Attorney's office. Mr. Tetterton then went on to work for a private criminal defense firm in Wake County, where he gained important skills in legal methods as well as in managing a law firm. As a lifelong North Carolinian, Mr. Tetterton has a deep understanding of the state and local legal process.

Mr. Tetterton's emphasis is the defense of persons accused of a crime in adult and juvenile courts in Carteret County. His professional experience includes the defense of individuals against a wide array of criminal allegations including theft, sexual offenses, DWI, traffic tickets, crimes of violence and probation violations. He also has experience in providing representation in Department of Social Services matters and civil cases.

Mr. Tetterton is married with two children and is a member of One Harbor Church in Morehead City. He is an Eagle Scout and volunteers in his community through multiple organizations such as the Beaufort Historical Association, and has served as a board member for the Carteret County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
