Baker, Garber, Duffy, and Pedersen was founded by Nathan Baker in 1926. His first office was opened in Hoboken, New Jersey so as to be near the Hudson River piers that became the center of commerce for the Eastern seaboard. As trade expanded on both sides of the Hudson, he opened offices along the waterfront in Newark, New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York.

At the outset, Mr. Baker represented the immigrant families who worked as longshoremen, seamen and industrial workers in New Jersey and New York. In later years, he provided legal counsel to the first-generation sons and daughters who continued to live in the great urban centers or moved to the suburbs to raise their families.

The law firm of Baker, Duffy, Garber, and Pedersen has maintained offices in Hoboken, Newark and Brooklyn for over 75 years. We continue to specialize in personal injury litigation and we are recognized as leading advocates for the legal rights of accident victims. We represent only those persons who are injured in accidents (plaintiffs). We never represent insurance companies and we never defend those persons who are sued (defendants).

As a result of our experience and reputation, we continue to meet new clients on a daily basis -- many of whom have been referred by former clients who were satisfied with our legal services. In addition, many clients are referred by other attorneys who consider us to be "the lawyers' lawyer" and who require our expertise in personal injury litigation.

As we look to the future, we will remain deeply committed to the preservation of the American system of civil justice and the constitutional right to trial by jury. We will promote the development of tort law and the protection of the legal rights of innocent people who are injured in accidents. We will continue to maintain our offices in New Jersey and New York and to provide the best legal representation for our clients.
