John Duy Tran

Biographical Information

John D. Tran is the Managing Partner at Rhema Law. He is a Registered Patent Attorney and Intellectual Property Trial Lawyer. His practice focuses on all matters dealing with intellectual property including Patent Infringement,Trademark Infringement, Patent Application, Trademark Registration and Trademark Oppositions, Trademark Cancellations. Mr. Tran has litigated cases before the Federal Courts and the Patent Trademark Office. Although less than 5% of patent infringement cases ever reach trial, Mr. Tran has already successfully litigated a patent infringement trial through jury verdict.

As a Patent Attorney, Mr. Tran has authored various patent applications on technologies ranging from medical devices, software, business methods, and simple to complex mechanical devices. In addition, he has obtained numerous design patent applications for the apparel, computer, automotive and furniture industries. In addition he routinely handles patent reexaminations, patent infringement opinions, invention consulting, and patent licenses. He serves clients worldwide including such countries as UK, China, and Vietnam.

He has also successfully obtained trademark registrations for his clients before the USPTO and internationally. In addition, he routinely represents clients in trademark cancellations and opposition proceedings before the TTAB and advises clients on Franchise Law issues. Mr. Tran serves as the General Trademark Counsel for such companies as Lee's Sandwiches International, Inc. and Greenlight Financial, Inc.
