• Assistant Vice President of risk management for MedStar Health and as the Vice President of MedStar Health's offshore captive insurance company domiciled in the Cayman. In these roles, he led all aspects of medical malpractice, general liability and workers' compensation claims and litigation management, risk financing, risk reduction and legislative advocacy for the system. MedStar Health is a large, not for profit, integrated healthcare delivery system, employing more than 27,000 associates with dominant market share in Washington, D.C. and the State of Maryland. It generates annual net operating revenues in excess of $3.8 billion.

• Prior to joining MedStar Health, Sharma served as Director of Litigation for CHRISTUS Health an integrated system of 40 hospitals and facilities in eight American states and Mexico generating annual net operating revenues of more than $3.7 billion. In addition to overseeing medical malpractice, general liability, business and employment litigation, he led the system's occupational injury claims and safety program to millions of dollars in cost reduction. Sharma also served as an enterprise risk management development leader and as the legislative advocate for risk management issues including tort and workers' compensation reform. As a result of Sharma's success, he was selected and participated in CHRISTUS Health's executive mentorship and development programs founded on Good to Great principles.

• With exceptional litigation results, served as a regional managing and senior trial attorney for Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Company.

• Sharma also served as a Workers' Compensation Judge with the State of Texas. In this capacity, he presided over hundreds of contested case hearings and timely rendered appropriate decisions and orders.

• Earlier in private law, he represented clients in a variety of personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, immigration, criminal and business matters.
