Irvin V Cantor

Biographical Information

Irv Cantor has spent his entire 31 year career dedicated to families of those who have suffered serious injuries or death. He has successfully tried to verdict or settled over 1500 plaintiff's injury or death cases, including over 350 traumatic brain injury cases. He has achieved over 30 verdicts and settlements exceeding $1,000,000 for his clients. His closing argument in an actual case was recorded in the audiotape, "VTLA Million Dollar Verdicts."

Irv was voted by his peers as one of the "Top 50 Virginia Super Lawyers," and is listed inBest Lawyers in America in both personal injury litigation and medical malpractice law. He is also AV® rated, Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Irv has served as president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia and the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He served as the chairman of the Brain Injury Association of America's National Legal Conference for the last two years.

Irv has lectured to trial lawyers on numerous subjects, including traumatic brain injuries, motor vehicle collisions, liability insurance coverage and elements of trial. He is on the faculty of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association College of Trial Advocacy. He has written many published articles and was the author of the chapter dealing with the legal aspects of traumatic brain injury cases for the seminal medical textbook on the subject, Brain Injury Medicine.

Irv's practice consists of representing persons who have suffered serious injuries or death. Traumatic brain injury cases comprise the largest portion of his practice. The vast majority of his cases are referrals from other trial lawyers. Many professionals in the field have asked Irv to handle their own injury or malpractice cases, including attorneys, judges, physicians, and claims adjustors.
