Gary W. Isenhour

Biographical Information

Little known, rarely spoken, and long forgotten facts about Attorney Gary W. Isenhour:

Thirty four years ago, he searched so many real estate titles, that even to this day he can clean up a real estate title in his sleep.

He graduated in the top 10% of his College Class and Magna Cum Laude from Law School.

That he has had the same telephone number since 1978.

That he was on television when paving crews scraped the city streets of Winston-Salem so deep that they removed trolley track that had been buried for 65 years.

That the only time he has been out of the United States was a day trip to Kakabeka Falls, Ontario, Canada in 1976.

That when he was a boy he was a pretty good baseball pitcher, and to this day some ask where he played when they are on the receiving end of his fast ball.

That there are many things he sincerely believes and from which he will never deviate, including the following: "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it."

That someday he would like to run for Judge.

That he is old enough to have seen the generation of flag burners and the generation of flag wavers- and found that one such generation inevitably gives way to the other.

That in the early 1980s he represented a Defendant in one of the largest drug busts in Wilkes County, North Carolina history and was still so new to the practice of law, that he had to first be sworn in, in the Federal Western District of North Carolina before he could proceed.

That he has handled so many divorces in his career, that he actually has started enjoying handling them.

That when he was in the 5th grade, a teacher handed him the book, "Profiles In Courage" which he read, and over time read again and again, and this little book turned out to be a major influence on his thinking and caused him to choose the practice of law as a profession.

Parting thought: That if you are against injustice, get off the bandwagon with people who seek to do selfish, unjust things.
