Fan Chen

Biographical Information

Fan is Managing Partner for the Firm's Employment and Immigration Divisions and has extensive legal experience in both employment and business immigration matters. Fan has represented employers in a wide range of immigration, employment, and labor relations law matters.

Fan is also frequent speaker on various employment and immigration subjects, such as HR training, I-9 Audit, and Wage & Hour. He was invited to speak at Painter & Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) Texas Chapter Annual Forum and Houston Bar Association CLE seminars.

Representative Experience

• Assisted Litigation and Appellate Teams in pretrial discovery, legal research, and trial preparation for two employment class action lawsuits.
• Counseled employers on hiring and firing decisions, wage and hour issues, Family and Medical Leave Act issues, employment policies and handbooks, restrictive covenants, and National Labor Relations Act related issues.
• Represented corporate immigration clients in a broad range of industries, including energy, steel manufacturing, food processing, sanitation, grocery chains, hospitality, ranching, medicine, and engineering
• Assisted employers in obtaining nonimmigrant or immigrant visas for professionals, intra-company transferees, research scholars, agricultural workers, and traders and investors.
• Conducted comprehensive I-9 audits (reviewed and corrected up to 15,000 I-9 forms), responded to dozens of Notices of Inspections, and negotiated with ICE field offices in Texas, Washington, Iowa, etc.
