David F Mull

Biographical Information

Mr. Mull has litigated numerous cases before both state and federal trial courts, and has participated in appeals before the Utah Court of Appeals and the Utah Supreme Court. His practice includes personal injury and wrongful death defense, business disputes involving contract and tort claims, and real estate litigation. His clients range from individuals to small and medium-sized businesses, insurance companies, and large corporations. He has defended clients against claims ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to over ten million dollars.

Recently named to Utah's Legal Elite for civil trial work, Mr. Mull has experience trying difficult cases involving catastrophic injuries, sympathetic plaintiffs, or both. For example, Mr. Mull recently defended a transit agency against allegations that his client caused a permanent traumatic brain injury to the plaintiff. After a ten day trial, the jury found Mr. Mull's client not liable, and the plaintiff recovered nothing.

In another case, Mr. Mull defended a major manufacturer of construction materials in a lawsuit based on permanent injuries to a seven year old boy. Mr. Mull tried the case to a jury, and the jury returned a verdict finding Mr. Mull's client not liable for any of the boy's injuries.

Mr. Mull takes particular pride in resolving disputes efficiently without incurring unnecessary costs. Some cases require massive written discovery and a team of expert witnesses. For others, minimal discovery followed by a quick trial makes the most sense. Regardless of the case, Mr. Mull understands that business owners and insurers do not want a "one size fits all" approach to every lawsuit.
