Biographical Information

David Cox is based in Lynchburg, with additional offices in Danville and Staunton, and practices bankruptcy law throughout the Western District of Virginia. His practice and the practice of his firm focus exclusively on the representation of consumer debtors in bankruptcy and related proceedings. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Cox served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. William E. Anderson, Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Virginia. He is past member of the Virginia State Bar's Board of Governors for the Bankruptcy Section and he was included in Virginia Business Magazine's list of the best Bankruptcy lawyers in the state (December 2003 & 2008 issues) as well as in their list of the best Young Practitioners (December 2007 issue). He is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, American Bankruptcy Institute, and is a Council Member of the Virginia Bar Association's Bankruptcy Section. Mr. Cox is the coeditor of Bankruptcy Practice in Virginia, he authored the Bankruptcy sections of the book Fee Agreements for Virginia Lawyers, and has lectured at numerous CLE programs related to Bankruptcy.
