Biographical Information

The Schachter Law Firm, P.C. was founded in September, 2004 by Adam G. Schachter for the purpose of serving individuals and businesses who were struggling with debt. Beginning in 1999, Adam learned how to practice bankruptcy law at one of the largest consumer bankruptcy firms in Houston. He then created a successful bankruptcy practice for a small law firm that continues to thrive to this day. After 4 years, he left that practice so that he could diversify and offer a wider range of debt relief that, in addition to bankruptcy, included workouts, negotiation, and aggressive use of the debt collection laws when appropriate. Adam's philosophy is that people and debts are separate and that people should be treated with courtesy and respect. Bad debt does not equal bad people. The vast majority of the firm's clients have had some major financial catastrophe such as divorce, illness or death in the family, job loss or, in the case of small businesses, loss of a major client. Adam also believes that major financial crises do not equate to the end of someone's life or a complete lack of hope for the future. With that in mind, Adam and his staff do an extraordinary job of removing the stigma, fear, and pain that people in financial straits experience.
